“The Soul of East and West”
- Korea & Canada International Art Exhibition
– To remember and celebrate the Korean Heritage Month, OIS ART OF CANADA hosts an event – < Korea and Canada International Art Exhibition-“The Soul of East and West” >. The exhibition will feature the works such as; oriental painting, ink painting, and traditional crafts of 5 Korean artists, professors from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea, and 5 remarkable Canadian artists from diverse communities.

- Special Exhibition “York Wilson- poem lover”
York Wilson (1907-1984) is an influential and famous Canadian painter and muralist. He painted lots of his works in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia before he died, and his works are installed at famous places such as; Sony Center, the Imperial Oil Building, Art Gallery of Algoma, Bell Telephone Building, Central Hospital.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and he was also a president of Ontario Society of Artists (1942) and the Canadian Group of Painters (1946-1948). “York Wilson Foundation”, after his name and ‘York Wilson Endowment Award’ at the Canada Council for the Arts were established after he died.
There are 7 paintings based on the poetry of Korean poems (Sijos) which he painted with his own inspiration after he read the 7 different Korean Sijos in 1960s. They are not open to the public, yet it will be the first time to be shown to the public by this special exhibition.
This additional exhibition will be a cultural and artistic bridge between Korea and Canada.
- Opening Reception (Friday September 23, 2022. 6pm-9pm)
Opening reception will be held at Arta Gallery, and guests, art lovers, collectors, artists, VIP guests and the artists who participate in the exhibition will mingle and share the artists’ message of their artworks.
