Korean - Canadian Young Artists Exchange Exhibition

"Ongoing"

In celebration of the “2024-25 Year of Korea-Canada Cultural Exchange,” OIS ART OF CANADA (Chairperson Jenny Lee), with support from the Korean Cultural Centre Canada (Director Sungyeol Kim) and the Overseas Koreans Agency (Commissioner Sangdeok Lee), is proud to present the Korean-Canadian Young Artists Exchange Exhibition, “Ongoing.” The exhibition will take place at Dignam Gallery (23 Prince Arthur Ave., Toronto) in downtown Toronto from Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to Tuesday, October 22, 2024, fostering a meaningful foundation for cultural and artistic exchange between Korea and Canada.

As part of the Korea-Canada Youth Exchange Promotion Project, this exhibition will feature a total of 34 participants, including students from art universities and emerging young artists from both countries. It represents the first-ever art exchange exhibition between young artists from Korea and Canada. The exhibition will showcase a diverse range of artwork, including paintings, sculptures, and drawings, highlighting the creative talent of the next generation poised to shape the future of cultural and artistic expression in both nations.

Additionally, a collaborative live painting show titled “Harmony in Art” by participating artists will be held during the opening reception on Friday, October 11, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Furthermore, this event will offer a unique opportunity to introduce the diverse artistic worlds of Korea and Canada to the Canadian public, promoting a deeper understanding of creativity and cultural diversity. By engaging the next generation of artists, the exhibition is expected to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two nations.
